Editing My Final Pieces



This is what the image will start of looking like. I used powerpoint to edit all of my final pieces, and will now show how I created the final outcome.

Begin by duplicating the image, and layering it exactly over the top of itself.Then, press the small arrow next to crop, and select the circle shaped crop.



Then, select the area that you want to use, insuring that it is shaped as a perfect circle.



Next, press enter and click over the area that the circle shape was. Insuring that it doesn't shift to the sides, rotate the circle exactly 180 degrees.













Repeat the steps of duplicating, cropping and rotating, as many times as you want.

The final outcome should appear something like this:





































This is all that the final piece involves via online editing. So, i printed off this image onto normal paper. I would then stick tape over certain areas, and rip it off, removing the ink, and leaving a thing white strip. I wrote into these areas with words themed around travel, and escapism.

I also drew around some of the circles to create more layering of mediums.

And this is how my final pieces were created.

My most recent homework for art was to present photos taken of a personal journey from the last 8 weeks of my life. I decided I would present photos that I took on a family holiday to Mexico, and the interesting experiences I had. The first few photos were taken at the ancient ruins of Tulum.  The buildings ranged from the houses of the people to a large castle which homed the king of the group. Fact that I learnt was that every time a new king was crowned, they would add extra parts to the castle to make it taller and more grand. The photo above is of one of the homes, and the photo on the right is from the top of the hill that the kings castle was build on.  The photo on the left is from the side of the wall of one of the homes, where a face is sculpted into either side of the corner. Conceptual Art: What's it all about?

Conceptual art is more than just pieces or forms you would normally associate with Art. It can range from inanimate objects to combinations of objects, or even just words. Just before the 19th century, objects and paintings were combined as equal in Art. Ever since, several conceptual artists have risen from all across the globe, including Brits such as Robert Montgomery and Martin Creed, and Americans like Mary Kelly and Solmore Wilt. The purpose of conceptual art to these people was to make people think, and create there own perspective of the piece, as well as for humour and to give the artists something they enjoyed, and in the words of Martin Creed, 'give me something to get out of bed for'. Pieces created could range from a scrunched up piece of paper (created by Martin Creed), to snow shovels, and balloons. Still Life

Today I had to practise still life drawing with a wrench. I used pencil and for very few parts a fine liner pen to harshen the darkness of some lines and shadows. What I like about it is the scale and shape of the wrench, which I spent a lot of time trying to get right. I feel what i could have got slightly better was the tone of the wrench, and made it a little smoother looking in places.
