Initial ideas
My theme is strongly linked to dream art, as i have developed the idea around a dream of my own, which is relevant to the main focus of 'journey' that we had to follow.
My theme is the idea of leaving everything behind, and going on a journey which redefines a person. Travelling the world and seeing everything that it has to offer, and also experiencing new things and places.
I have developed a few final piece ideas from this.
The first is depicted from the behind of a car, as we watch it descend into the horizon. the landscape will be generally unfamiliar, maybe in the desert, mountains captured on the skyline or background. The sky will be filled by a large, bright, and warm sunset, created a positive mood, which highlights the mood and opinion of the people taking the journey, and the mood of myself, as this imagery is a part of a dream of mine.
The second idea is again following the idea of having a sunset to create a warm, positive mood. This time however, the image features a person sat on a cliff edge, staring out on the horizon. The far away ground would be full of trees, covering it all the way up to the horizon, where i may or may not feature mountains again. I am undecided yet whether to feature one or two people, although i currently feel like featuring two people will be more effective, as it could show how to people with a strong relationship left everything to explore the world together. The sky will be featuring a few clouds, and a large group of the silhouettes of birds in the sky.
In the next piece, a single person is lying down stargazing over the night sky, in an empty scene, a flat field that goes on into the distance with no trees or anything. The stars being gazed on have been captured as if in slow motion, the lines of light spreading across the image, creating a beautiful array of light and shape, the night sky with be full of dark colours and depth.
The next idea is a person is sat on a canoe, using the canoe to the steer through a clear and still ocean, the night sky's colour and stars reflecting into the water.
Another idea that I had features a person shown climbing up the edge of a cliff, and in the background behind them can be seen a bright and colourful sunset, birds flying in large groups, a few clouds in the sky. On the ground will be a forest, and other rocky areas close by.

The final idea that I had is probably the one that i least like, as it doesn't really link to the theme of journey that strongly. The idea was to fill a whole page with the sunset, and have silhouettes of a couple of centre, staring out on this large sunset. I feel like this will create a strong mood, from the relationship implied by the closeness of the couple, and the warmth and positivity of the sunset, and it's colours.
I am most likely to use paint for every one of these final pieces, as it is one of the mediums that i am more comfortable using, and i feel as if i could create a really realistic looking sunset with paint. I am unsure yet, but I may experiment with other mediums as well, and see if any work well with paint, or to use entirely on its own as an alternative to paint.
